Colorful Squash
We enjoy growing many different varieties of pumpkins just as we do apples, peaches, grapes, pears, raspberries, blueberries and sweet corn. Most of these are edible with flavor that far exceeds a simple pie pumpkin.
Fall harvest is our favorite time of the year because our labor and planning is coming to completion. We grow as much as we can without shying away from our main focus: tree fruit. Specialty pumpkins, small pumpkins, gourds and winter squash are grown by us, but many of the pumpkins, cornstalks and flowers are grown by other local farmers.
You can pick your own gourds, squash and decorative pumpkins in our pumpkin patch at Ransom Sage Farm.

We purchase jumbo pumpkins to keep our farm market full.

We grow Acorn, Butternut, Buttercup, Spaghetti, New England Blue Hubbard and other edible squash. Our family favorite is buttercup. Winter squash can be prepared by simply slicing in half, steaming in a pot for about 40 minutes or until soft and scooping it out. Serve with butter and salt as desired.
